GSB is thrilled to announce: GSB,  Cicada Rhythm  and Sye Spence will perform together on Friday June 26 as part of Athfest 2015!  The show will take place at Hendershot’sCicada Rhythm in Athens as part of the music festival’s Club Crawl.  Cicada Rhythm recently signed with New West Records and is one of Athens fastest rising bands.  “Born and raised in Georgia, this talented pair imitates and modernizes folk music to a rejuvenating degree. The sound of Andrea DeMarcus and Dave Kirslis exhibits skilled and articulate guitar picking honed in the dive bars of Atlanta over rolling Julliard-trained bass lines. Expect chilling harmonies, unbridled enthusiasm, some wholesome tunes and a sincere performance.”   Sye Elaine Spence is a singer/songwriter from New York City, currently residing in Atlanta, GA. As a songwriter, she has collaborated with various artists in the New York City indie music scene since 2008. She also records and performs as a solo artist. GSB Tours iconic Echo Mountain Studio, Asheville

Echo MoountainGSB was thrilled to take a private tour of arguably the South’s most aesthetic and functionally impressive studio.  Located in downtown Asheville, Echo Mountain Studio is housed in a former Methodist Church and much of that architectural “spirit” remains.  The main studio boasts a large stained glass window and the woods and layout still possess the atmosphere of being in Church.  The list of clients is a litany of who’s who;  Steve Martin, Peter Asher and the Steep Canyon Rangers were there the day before we arrived.  Will Manning, who produced GSB’s first album, was an intern there as well.  GSB hopes to add a recording experience there to our list of bucket list accomplishments!

GSB to Perform with Rob Nance & The Lost Souls

GSB is excited to announce a new show at Hendershot’s Coffee (237 Prince Avenue, Athens, Ga) for Saturday February 28, 2015.  GSB will provide support for Rob Nance & The Lost Souls (Durham, N.C.).

Rob is no stranger to Athens, nor to GSB.  The two performed together during the Summer of 2014 for an enthusiastic crowd at The Georgia Theatre, along with Jim Avett.

The show, which begins at 8 p.m.,  will feature songs from Rob’s brand new album, “Signal Fires”.  This album follows his highly successful debut release, “Lost Souls and Locked Doors”, a collection of heartfelt folk songs and rock numbers that make up a sound both familiar and new.

Growing up on a steady diet of musical influences in North Carolina that ranged from Doc Watson to Neil Young, Rob Nance writes songs that echo the traditions of southern and contemporary folk music to create a unique brand of roots rock.

Hendershot’s is an intimate setting for the show, and fans are encouraged to arrive early for what promises to be a sold-out event.rob nance
